Auditions

Auditions for positions in the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2008 in the Great Hall of the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center on the University of Northern Iowa campus beginning at 9:00 a.m.

The following positions are available. Winds, brass and percussion are encouraged to audition for the sub list.

Interim Principal Bass

Oboe 3/auxiliary English Horn
Bassoon 2
Bassoon 3/Contrabassoon

Special Announcement

The rehearsal schedule for our May Add-On Concert with the Iowa Composer’s Forum has changed. It is now:

Thursday, May 8, 7:30-10pm, Great Hall
Saturday, May 10, 10:30am-1pm, Great Hall
Concert is at 2pm, with lunch served by the Friends at 1pm

Comp Policy

Musicians playing a classical concert may receive up to two (2) Zone 3 complimentary tickets. A player’s list will be provided to the box office the week of the first rehearsal for that concert. Tickets must be picked up. There are no complimentary holds unless special arrangements have been made with the symphony office.

Zone upgrades are available by paying the difference between the cost of a Zone 3 ticket and the Zone in which seats are desired. To upgrade complimentary tickets please contact the box office at 319-273-4TIX or 1-877-549-7469 weekdays 8:30 a.m. ­ 5:00 p.m., Saturday 10:00 a.m. ­ 2:00 p.m. or 1 1/2 hours prior to the concert.

Family Concert Comp Ticket Policy:  Musicians playing the concert may receive up to two (2) complimentary student tickets with the purchase of one (1) adult ticket.  All seats are general admission.  Tickets may be purchased at the GBPAC box office.  The telephone number is 273-4TIX (toll-free 877-549-7469), weekdays 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and one hour before the concert.
