YACC Winners!

The Young Artist Concerto Competition is an annual opportunity for high-performing music students from the state of Iowa. The competition is held in Davis Hall at the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center on the University of Northern Iowa campus, Cedar Falls. Students of piano, strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion are encouraged to participate.

Congratulations to the winners of the wcfsymphony’s 2022 Young Artists Concerto Competition:

1st Place: Katya Moeller, gr. 12, (violin), played Violin Concerto in D Major,Op 35, mvmt I.

2nd Place: Adrian Bostian, gr. 11, (cello), played Variations on a Rococo Theme Variations 1,2,3,7. By Tchaikovsky,

3rd Place: Jonathan Chen, gr. 12, (piano), played Piano Concerto no. 2 in C minor, mvmt I

Honorable Mention: Rashaan Bryant, gr. 9, (Violin), played Zigeunerweisen Op. 20 by Sarasate,

Cash prizes of $400 for first place, $250 for second place, and $150 for third place are awarded. The first-place winner will perform with wcfsymphony, at the discretion of Artistic Director Jason Weinberger.
