Young Artists Concerto Competition

The Young Artist Concerto Competition is an annual opportunity for high-performing music students from the state of Iowa. The competition is held in Davis Hall at the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center on the University of Northern Iowa campus, Cedar Falls. Students of piano, strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion are encouraged to participate.

Cash prizes of $400 for first place, $250 for second and $150 for third are offered. The first-place winner is often invited to perform with wcfsymphony at the discretion of the panel and Pauline Barrett Artistic Director Jason Weinberger.

Due to conditions surrounding the pandemic, we will not hold a competition in 2021. Please check back here in the fall of 2021 for information about the 2022 Young Artist Concerto Competition.
