
Young Artist Concerto Competition
The Young Artist Concerto Competition is an annual opportunity for high-performing music students from the state of Iowa. The competition is held in Davis Hall at the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center on the University of Northern Iowa campus, Cedar Falls. Students of piano, strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion are encouraged to participate.
The 2023 Young Artist Concerto Competition was held on March 5, 2023 in Davis Hall at the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center on the University of Northern Iowa campus, Cedar Falls. Ten high-performing high school students (grades 8-12) from the state of Iowa performed a variety of repertoire for a panel of three adjudicators.
The 2023 Young Artist Concerto Competition winners are:
1st Place: Adam Zeithamel, Cello (12th grade) from Iowa City

2nd Place: Adrian Bostian, Cello, (12th grade) from Iowa City
Dvorak’s Concerto in B minor
3rd Place: Kento Sugiyama, Piano, (8th grade) from Iowa City
