Concert: Honoring Our Own

Sat, March 7, 2020 at 7:00 pm

Our performances of works by women composers continue with Honoring Our Own.  The concert will include two works by Joan Tower who recently received the Gold Baton award from the League of American Orchestras.  The Gold Baton Award is the highest award given by the League.  Ms. Tower is also Musical America's 2020 Composer of the Year.  Our own Cayla Bellamy will be the bassoon soloist performing Red Maple by Ms. Tower.  The concert will conclude with Symphony No. 4 by Johannes Brahms.  Brahms' 4th is a work of great beauty and one of the foundations of classical music.  The musicians of the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony will be front and center in the inspiring conclusion to an evening of wonderful music!
