Corona Virus Notice

March 12, 2020

Dear wcfsymphony family members:

The wcfsymphony board and management are in close touch with our counterparts at the University of Northern Iowa and the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center regarding the developing situation with the coronavirus in Iowa.

As you may have heard, UNI will be conducting on-line classes only during the two weeks following the school’s Spring Break next week.  As of now, nothing in UNI’s announced plan affects any upcoming wcfsymphony concerts.

The next scheduled wcfsymphony concerts are our Youth Concerts on Tuesday, April 7th and the presentation of the film documentary JANE with the orchestra playing the musical score on Saturday, April 18th.  As of now, we have no plans to cancel or postpone either of these events.

We will continue to monitor the situation and notify you as soon as possible of any changes to the status of these concerts.  Tickets remain on sale for the JANE concert through UNItix at 319-273-4849 or at wcfsymphony.org.

In the meantime, we are confident that Gallagher-Bluedorn staff members are implementing every measure and precaution necessary to create a safe environment for all patrons attending events at the Center.

Our top priority at wcfsymphony is to assure the safety and health of every member of the symphony family.  We encourage ticket holders, donors and musicians to be vigilant and take seriously the responsibility to not come to an event if you are experiencing any symptoms of illness.  If you don’t feel well or feel that you are at risk, please stay home and get better.

Ticket buyers that choose not to attend the April 18th performance due to illness or as a precaution will be happily given a full credit toward any wcfsymphony concert next season or, if they prefer, a refund.

Music is one of the few experiences in life that is a universally positive and shared experience.  We are passionate about bringing an uninterrupted flow of great music to you. We will meet the current challenge as the arts meet all challenges, by putting people first and creating safe experiences that bring us closer in spirit - even if we need to reduce hugs and handshakes in the near future.

Please contact us at [email protected] or 319-273-3373 with questions.
